I had the privilege of being at the hospital when little Miss "A" was born. Even though we couldn't get any pictures during Mommy's labor, we got some beautiful shots afterwards. Congrats Mom and Dad and thank you for letting me share with you in your special day!

Today is pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day. I have personally known several friends and family members who have experienced the loss of their precious child. My heart still aches for them. In honor of this special day I would like to offer a waived session fee ($75) and a free 8x10 for the next 24 hours to anyone who leaves a comment on this post saying how pregnancy/infant loss has touched their life. Bundle of Sweetness- Glen Allen Va. Newborn Photographer

Little Mr. M was just a bundle of sweetness. At nine weeks old, I warned mom that we may not be able to get a lot of the cute "newborn" shots that she was wanting. That's not to say that we wouldn't try, but it would be hard to pull off. Well, I am so glad we tried. M was so cooperative that we got every shot we wanted and then some. He was smiley and curious for part of the session and then sleepy and bendy for the rest of it. What a dream! Mom and Dad, here is your sneak peek. Enjoy!

Every Parents Worst Nightmare

I had to take a minute tonight to post a heartbreaking story. A designer/photographer friend of mine lost her dear little boy yesterday. Nate was 4 years old and contracted H1N1 which turned into pneumonia. I have worked with Tracy several times on my marketing materials and so has my husband. She has had a terribly difficult year and now is facing the unimaginable, burying her child. The family is struggling with the medical and funeral expenses and would appreciate any help that can be given. Please, if you can give anything, or even just share this information with everyone you know, then we can help her and her family with what they need. The last thing on their mind should be how they will afford to give their son a proper funeral. A memorial fund has been set up in his name.

4 year old Nathan Stone passed away this morning at ETCH after battling the H1N1 virus. His visitation and funeral will be at Hood Funeral Home in Crossville. Sweet Baby "L"- Firefly Photography-Midlothian, Va. Child and Newborn Photographer

Firefly Photography is starting a new tradition. Portraits in the Park is an opportunity for you to get your child's fall portraits done at an affordable price. Here's how it works:

1. Choose a time slot and pay your deposit.
2. Dress your child in their favorite fall outfit.
3. Show up at the park at your chosen time.
4. Sit back and relax while I capture adorable images of your little one.
5. Within a week you will receive a link to your gallery containing 5-10 of the best images from the session.
6. Choose the prints that you want and place your order.
7. Receive your prints within 2 weeks of ordering and smile at how easy it all was :)

Portraits in the Park

Location: Rockwood Park (3401 Courthouse Rd. Richmond, VA 23236-1438)
Time: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

$100 ($200 value)*

Includes:
-30 minute mini session
-5-10 images to choose from
-disc of low-resolution watermarked images from gallery for sharing online
-2 set of wallets (4 in each set)
-Your choice of 4 small prints (5x7, 4x6, or wallets)

Sessions will take place every hour, on the hour, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your slot will only be held once your $100 session fee is received and your session contract and model release are signed. You will have the option to purchase additional prints but will not be required to buy anything else. Session fees are non-refundable. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of session and session fee will be transferred to a credit with Firefly Photography. Cancellations made within less than 24 hours before your session will not receive any refund. It is recommended that if you must cancel on short notice that you find someone else to fill your slot to avoid losing your money. If you are more than 15 minutes late you will lose your slot and your session fee. No substitutions, coupons, or discounts may be used with this promotion. *Session fee includes up to two people. You may add up to 3 more people(for a total of 5) at $10 per person, but there will not be individual shots if doing a group session.
